TGen encourages a deeper commitment to an inclusive working environment
JEFFREY M. TRENT, PH.D., F.A.C.M.G.G.
PRESIDENT AND RESEARCH DIRECTOR
Our vision at TGen is centered around bridging genomic research with medical advancements that directly impact individuals, their families, and their communities. To achieve this, a working environment that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive to all is essential. To encourage a deeper commitment to an inclusive working environment, TGen is proud to announce the establishment of our new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council. Furthermore, TGen encourages continuing DEI education and offers a space where employees can safely express their unique identities.
Beyond promoting DEI within our laboratories and teams, TGen also works towards addressing and eliminating disparities in healthcare research by serving groups that have been historically underrepresented by the biomedical field, including people of color, tribal citizens, homeless shelters, and those housed in correctional facilities. These efforts go beyond policies and campaigns and are pursued to truly support all those who need cutting-edge medical care, regardless of socioeconomic status or identity. By pursuing translational research in this manner, medicine will become more precise, more equitable, and more personal for everyone.
