Janith Don is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Division of Clinical Genomics and Therapeutics at The Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) in Phoenix. He earned his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Miami, USA, and his B.Sc. Eng (Hons) in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.

Dr. Don’s primary research focuses on Computational Biology, Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. At TGen, he works under the guidance of Dr. Nicholas Schork, investigating topics such as human longevity, polygenic scores, aging, and age-related diseases like cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and cancer. His research involves using high-performance computing and large biological datasets, such as the UK Biobank, to analyze genetic, lifestyle, and environmental factors contributing to diseases and longevity. He also develops predictive models to assess individual disease risks and health spans based on genomic sequence data.
