Manuel Estrada is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with experience in publicly traded and private companies. He most recently held various positions at Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation, serving as the Vice President of Financial Reporting, and Executive Director of Financial Reporting.
He was responsible for external financial reporting, including public filings with the Securities Exchange Commission, as well as internal financial reporting to key members of the organization. He maintained responsibility for financial modeling of business development activities and strategic initiatives. He developed and signed off on technical accounting position papers. In his capacity as Vice President, Manuel was significantly involved in the Company’s convertible debt offering which was issued in conjunction with other complex financial instruments.
Previously, Manuel served as the Director of Risk Management for a publicly traded restaurant chain. During his tenure he established and managed the Company’s internal audit department, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, and Enterprise Risk Assessment to identify key risk areas for the organization.
Manuel has also served as the Chief Financial Officer (or financial leader) for companies in industries as diverse as life sciences, technology and construction.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of Arizona, where he graduated cum laude in 1993. He began his career as an auditor in public accounting, working for both Ernst & Young and Deloitte & Touche.
