The Kristin Hornaday Fund was established in 2006 by close friends of the Hornaday family. Kristin was 26 when she died from a malignant melanoma. During Kristin's three year battle with melanoma she went through periods where she was thought to be cancer free, only to have the cancer return.
Melanoma is the most serious type of skin cancer and malignant melanoma is the fastest-growing cancer today. Nearly 80 percent of all skin cancer deaths are caused by melanoma.
It is the hope, belief and prayer of the Hornaday family and their friends that the Kristin Hornaday Fund will help make it possible for future patients to be cured of the disease.
