Academic Year Internships

TGen's academic year internships are hands-on, volunteer experiences for ambitious, motivated, goal-oriented students seeking a challenge. TGen faculty and staff provide dedicated mentorship and are fully committed to cultivating the talent and skills of their student interns. Students in TGen academic year internships are expected to contribute directly to the research goals of their host laboratories as they learn.

Internships are available in all areas of translational bioscience: laboratory research, computational biology and bioinformatics, mathematics and statistics, and research administration (communications, IT, business development, legal and regulatory affairs, compliance, etc.).

Academic year internships are generally at least one semester in length with a weekly commitment of 15-20 hours. All TGen internships are arranged and structured with specific start and end dates. Course credit may be awarded at the mentor's and program manager's discretion. The internship experience must be relevant to the student's academic and professional goals, and fit within the framework of TGen's research objectives and mission. All internships are performed under the supervision of TGen personnel. Interns do not have building access on evenings or weekends.
