Evening of Trends 2019 gala benefits TGen research Nov. 1
‘Desert Serenade’ spectacular aligns with TGen focus on women and children
PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. — Oct. 17, 2019 — Because of its commitment towards new treatments and cures for women’s cancers and childhood disorders, Trends Magazine and Trends Charitable Fund (TCF) have selected the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), an affiliate of City of Hope, as the beneficiary of this year’s annual fall gala.
Evening of Trends 2019, A Desert Serenade, starts at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia, 4949 E. Lincoln Drive.
This is the second year in a row that TGen has been selected as the beneficiary of TCF’s gala. Last year, Evening of Trends 2018 raised more than $275,000 for TGen, specifically for ovarian cancer research and also for TGen’s Center for Rare Childhood Disorders, including funds for genetic sequencing, which can help doctors diagnosis TGen’s pediatric patients.
“We are hoping for an even bigger turnout this year,” said Evening of Trends 2019 Co-Chair Vicki Vaughn. “This event is generating a great buzz because of the tremendous impact TGen is having on the lives of Arizonans, and of those across the globe.”
To attend this year’s gala, tickets range from $500 to $1,000 for individuals, and $5,000 to $25,000 for a table for 10. For more information or to donate to the Trends Charitable Fund, visit: www.trendscharitablefund.org.
Guests will be treated to a special performance by Arizona music icon and Spanish guitar soloist extraordinaire Esteban, whose fans instantly recognize him, dressed in black, accented by his bolero hat and sunglasses.
Honored this year will be Trends Magazine’s 2019 Trendsetters: Ivy Ciolli, Amanda Garmany, Abby Leadon, Tess Loo, Carrie Martz, Tiffany Quayle, Joan Raskin, Chrissy Sayare, Aimee Smith and Dee Dee Vecchione, along with this year’s “Fabulous Phoenician” Betty McRae.
Established in 1986, Trends Charitable Fund has granted more than $5 million to charities benefiting Arizona women, children and families.
“TGen’s research aligns perfectly with the goals of Trends Charitable Fund, which supports programs that lift up women, children and their families,” said Susie Muzzy, Co-Chair of Evening of Trends 2019.
Also being recognized are the members of the 2019 Trends Charitable Fund Board, including: Susie Wesley (President), Marilyn Alexander, Charlene Berge-Blum, Lee Courtney, Kim Cullum, Kathryn Petsas and Molly Stockley.
