TGen’s Runway for Research Raises Over $214,000 for Women’s Cancer Research
4th annual fashion show supports leading-edge research into women’s cancers
PHOENIX, AZ (October 28, 2024) – The TGen Foundation today announced that its 4th Annual Runway for Research raised over $214,000 to support laboratory and clinical research of women’s cancers at TGen, part of City of Hope.
Held in partnership with Neiman Marcus and Scottsdale Fashion Square, this annual event brings together a diverse group of fashion enthusiasts and supporters to preview the latest fall fashions, celebrate cancer survivors, and advance research.
“It was a privilege to co-chair this year’s event with Bea Rocklin and Justine Hurry,” said Molly Stockley, associate vice president of Marketing, Communications, and Physician Relations at City of Hope Arizona. “We wish to thank TGen, Neiman Marcus, Scottsdale Fashion Square and our hardworking event committee in helping us reach our goal of introducing new attendees and sponsors to the great work happening at TGen and City of Hope, all while raising funds and awareness in support of women’s health in a fun, fashionable style.”
More than 250 attendees lined the runway as the event models showcased the latest in fall fashion from some of today’s leading couturiers, all while emphasizing the importance of research in the fight against women’s cancers.
Doctors will inform more than 330,000 American women this year that they have breast or ovarian cancer. At TGen and City of Hope, scientists and physicians work to uncover the genetic drivers behind these and other cancers to rapidly advance breakthroughs and treatments that can save lives.
“Through the commitment of our partners, sponsors, event co-chairs and their committee, we are transforming the future of research and clinical care for thousands of women diagnosed with cancer each year,” said Erin Massey, chief development officer at TGen and vice president of philanthropy at City of Hope. “By celebrating fashion and supporting leading research, we empower work that has the potential to save lives.”
The event was held at Scottsdale Fashion Square’s Luxury Wing, which was transformed into a stunning runway where dozens of models strutted amid a vibrant atmosphere.
Event sponsors included the following companies and individuals. Runway Sponsor: The Estate Watch and Jewelry, Co.; In-style Sponsor, Amazon; Couture Sponsor, Guarantee Trust Life; Chic Sponsor, Charlene Berge-Blum.
