OUR MISSION
To advance human health through next-generation microbial science.
We apply advanced laboratory and computer technology to explore the next frontier in our understanding of how microbes relate to human health and disease: the human microbiome.
A next-generation approach of collaborative research, cutting edge technology, and health policy to advance population health (people, animals, and the environment) using a One Health strategy.
With a focus on the continual advancement of antibiotic resistance, we partner with healthcare providers to characterize and track critical pathogens in hospitals and clinics, which ultimately allows physicians to provide personalized therapy and prevent outbreaks.
Through sequencing technology, we are developing more accurate diagnoses and treatments for this pathogen that affects one-third of the world population.
From strep to influenza to rare fungal infections, we have developed advanced capabilities to assist public health and healthcare officials investigating disease outbreaks in our backyard and around the world.
By collaborating with law enforcement, public health, military, and intelligence communities, TGen North and Northern Arizona University work to support America’s biosecurity and protection from pathogens such as anthrax and plague.
